Annual Challenge 

Rules:

Stocks:

The starting amount in a portfolio is $100,000 in Investopedia money, and the stocks that are able to be traded are the ones available on Investopedia, the platform that we will be using. 

Outside help and/or materials:

Outside help and/or materials may be used, however, they may not be used to an extreme, or be utilized in order to give a clear and/or unfair advantage. Use your own judgment to make decisions.

About the Challenge:

Length:

This Challenge lasts for roughly 6 weeks, starting on the beginning of  January, and end on mid-February each year. The registration period for the competition is open from November to January before the Challenge starts. Click here  for the registration link.  

The final result will be announced ~2 weeks after the Challenge ends and the results will be posted on our website. We will also send out a notification email to all the participants to announce the results of the Challenge.

Participants will use their Investopedia account to attend a custom game. Participants who do not have an Investopedia account will need to make an account (Investopedia accounts are free and only require email). Teams should only use one account to compete. The custom investment game code will be sent to the participants in an email after they have signed up. To register, please see our Registration page.

Judging:

Placement will depend on portfolio performance, but a submission of short summary (no more than 300 words, or 2000 characters) of the traders' investment strategy may also be submitted.

The Challenge will be held on Investopedia. Participants may form groups of up to 3 people and must register only once per team.
